Privacy Policy
Moovica ("Moovica", "we", "us") operates the Moovica iOS application and the website moovica.ai (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and delete personal information — including photos and other images you submit for AI processing.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
Moovica is the data controller for personal information processed through the Service. Privacy inquiries: privacy@moovica.ai.
2. Photos, videos, and AI processing (important)
Moovica is an AI-powered creative app. When you create a poster or story, you choose a photo (via the in-app camera or photo library). That image is core to the Service. Here is what happens:
- Upload & storage: After you confirm a photo, it is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS to our servers and stored in secure cloud storage (Google Firebase Storage) linked to your account so we can process it and show results in your collection.
- AI analysis & generation: We send all or part of your image, together with generated prompts and metadata, to third-party AI providers to: (a) analyze the scene (e.g. genre, title, critic text, director-style pairing), (b) generate cinematic poster/scene artwork, (c) generate short video stories when you use that feature.
- Moderation: We run automated safety checks before and/or after upload. Images that appear to violate our content rules (e.g. sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise prohibited material) are rejected and are not kept for your collection.
- Generated outputs: AI-created posters, scene images, thumbnails, and videos are stored so you can view, share, and delete them from the app.
- No sale of photos: We do not sell your photos or use them to train public third-party foundation models for unrelated products. Our AI vendors process content under contract to provide services to Moovica only, subject to their terms and our instructions.
Do not upload images you do not have the right to use, including photos of other people without their permission where required by law.
3. Other information we collect
- Account data: Firebase Authentication user ID; email address if you sign in with Apple or link an account; language preference; subscription and credit status.
- Device & usage data: App version, general interaction events, quota/credit usage, crash/diagnostic logs, and IP address needed for security and operation.
- Purchase data: Subscription and consumable purchase events from Apple App Store and RevenueCat (we do not receive or store full payment card numbers).
- Support communications: Information you send when contacting us.
- Public share links: If you share a poster or story, anyone with the link may view the shared preview on moovica.ai until you disable sharing or delete the content.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service (posters, stories, and collection).
- Process your images with AI as described above.
- Authenticate users, enforce quotas, credits, and subscriptions.
- Detect abuse, fraud, and prohibited content.
- Respond to support requests and legal obligations.
- Send service-related messages (we do not sell your data for third-party advertising).
5. Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar regions)
Where applicable, we rely on:
- Contract: to deliver the features you request (poster/story generation).
- Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention, product improvement, and moderation, balanced against your rights.
- Consent: where required (e.g. optional notifications or permissions you grant in iOS Settings).
- Legal obligation: when we must retain or disclose data by law.
6. Third-party service providers
We use trusted processors that handle data on our behalf, including:
- Google Firebase — authentication and cloud file storage.
- OpenRouter / AI language providers — text analysis and script generation.
- fal.ai and related media APIs — image editing and video generation.
- RevenueCat — subscription and in-app purchase management.
- Apple — App Store billing and Sign in with Apple.
- Cloud hosting providers — API and database infrastructure.
These providers may process data in the United States or other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for international transfers.
7. Retention
- Your content (photos, posters, stories) is kept while your account is active and until you delete individual items or your account.
- Rejected/moderated uploads are not retained for your collection.
- Logs and billing records may be kept longer where needed for security, tax, or legal compliance, then deleted or anonymized.
8. Your choices & rights
- Permissions: You can revoke camera or photo library access in iOS Settings.
- Delete content: Remove individual posters or stories in the app.
- Delete account: Email privacy@moovica.ai from your account email with subject "Account deletion". We will verify ownership and delete or anonymize associated data within a reasonable period (typically within 30 days), except data we must retain by law.
- Access, correction, portability, objection: Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, or similar laws. Contact us to exercise them. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
- California residents: We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. You may request disclosure or deletion as described above.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and authenticated APIs. No method of transmission or storage is 100%% secure; use the Service at your own risk.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data to us, contact privacy@moovica.ai and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app where appropriate. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
